Oxymoron or not, thats what i feel like i have been doing for quite sometime now, i turned my topic for my project from ‘graffiti; art vs. vandalism’ to marketing myself as an artist, but now i think i have come back to where i began, after walking in a circle full of indecisiveness and confusion.
Graffiti; Art vs. Vandalism.
So, let’s catch you’s guys guys up. So far i have two Expert Sources, they are two charleston based artists, Sheepman; who is known for his aerosol artork located behind buffalo south, and Ishmael; who’s main objective is to get inform whoever reads his message, or ‘name’ about ishmael, a novel by Daniel Quinn. Ishmael’s artwork ranges in mediums such as stickers, aerosol, acyrilics, Also i’ve been told that i have a possible connection to Shepard Fairey, a Charleston based graffiti artist that has reached international notariety, and has expanded is art from street art, to art that is now hung in galleries, commissioned, and has even expanded into a clothing brand, and much more.
Now that i have sources that can give me insight on the artist’s prospective, i need to find sources that can give me insight on what people that are not artist and have a different point of view on ‘Graffiti’ as a whole, such as a member of the city council, or even Mayor Joe Riley, who has instated laws against graffiti artist so that if someone is caught doing graffiti, their punishment is severe, compared to the punishment that was instated before.
If and when i speak to these sources i want to use their feedback to compare and contrast the prospectives between the two. In order to get a valid prospective from both sides.
